Substance Abuse Recovery Video Series to Air on Surry TV Channel 14

(Dobson, N.C.) – A video series focused on substance abuse recovery, coordinated through Surry County’s Office of Substance Abuse Recovery, is now playing each night at 10 p.m. on Surry TV Channel 14. The channel is offered with Surry Communications’ cable subscriptions.

The four episodes cover:

  • The journey through substance abuse recovery
  • Substance use treatment
  • Medication Assisted Treatment approaches
  • Recovery success stories

The video series is titled “Surry, The Road to Recovery.”

“It is my hope that Surry County residents, after watching this series, will gain a greater understanding of substance use disorder, the varied approaches to treatment, and most importantly, that recovery is possible,” said Mark Willis, the Director of Substance Abuse Recovery. “The video series allows county residents to tell the stories of their struggles, adversities and strengths while overcoming addiction. While producing this series, I gained great respect for the courage it took to relate their stories.”

The Office of Substance Abuse Recovery collaborated with the North Carolina Training and Technical Assistance Center and Partners Health Management to produce “Surry, The Road to Recovery.”
