Any group located in Surry County that is a registered 501c3 may participate in this litter collection initiative. Eligible groups will receive $7.00 for every garbage bag of roadside litter that they collect. Only state maintained roads that are not a part of the Adopt-a-Highway program or do not have contracted litter collection through NC DOT are eligible for litter collection under this program. Interested groups will work with County staff to identify eligible state maintained roadways for litter collection.
