Administration

Administration is responsible for the supervision of County operations in accordance with state and local laws. The County Manager serves as the chief administrator for Surry County Government and is appointed by the Board of Commissioners. Responsibilities include supervision of department heads, enforcement of regulations, policies, and direction and guidance the Board of Commissioners authorize. In addition, the County Manager is responsible for preparing and submitting an annual budget to the Board as well as advising them on matters of concern, services, and other issues.
